The Grind Coffee Shop has evolved into The Grind Greenery, a stunning restaurant within Arch Cycles, offering full breakfast and lunch menus. The focus is on healthy eating, or “healthy deliciousness” as co-owner Brian Theunissen prefers to call it.
There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, with several dishes being gluten-free too. Freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, salads, breakfast bowls, wraps and toasted sandwiches are on the menu, as are scrumptious meals like quinoa with avo salsa and baby marrow fritters, oven-baked melanzane alla Parmigiana, and sweet potato hash and chicken prego. For diners who can’t imagine a meal without meat or fish of some kind, customers are welcome to add chicken or salmon to their order.
There’s a separate plant-based menu offering vegan dishes like tofu or Beyond Meat burgers, grain and protein bowls, Vietnamese summer rolls, citrus and fennel salad, quinoa and hummus with lentils, sweet potato wedges, baby spinach, coleslaw and avo, and many more delicious options. Almond, macadamia, soy and coconut milk are on offer for coffees and lattes.
End your meal with a delicious treat that will satisfy your craving for something sweet but won’t make you feel guilty afterwards – everything is sugar- and gluten-free. Indulge in a carrot and date muffin, orange and chia muffin, an avo and cocoa power ball, banana bread, apple crumble or chickpea chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate brownie, made with butternut, sweet potato, cocoa, coconut and coconut oil, raw almonds and honey, is heavenly!
The Grind Greenery offers three private dining rooms that can be rented by the hour, and the restaurant also offers a catering service. Customers can WhatsApp their order between 7am and 4pm to 072 754 8705 and do a drive-by collection. The Grind Greenery also delivers within the Melrose Arch precinct.
The Grind Greenery is open Monday to Friday 6.30am – 6pm, Saturday 7.30am – 4pm and Sunday and public holidays from 8am – 4pm. Visit www.thegrindgreenery.co.za for more information.
