Cyclethon 2014: Sweat For A Good Cause at Melrose Arch

Join the beautiful and generous residents of Johannesburg, as they open their wallets, and stay healthy at the same time. An energy, fun-filled day, the Cyclethon 2014 celebrates giving back. According to Cyclethon Founder Denise Modlin, “Giving back in life makes a difference in other people’s lives”. Cyclethon 2014 is in support of Hospice Wits & Smile Foundation and promises to be one filled with fun for the whole family.

Join in on the festivities on Saturday, 20 September 2014, from 7am – 4pm as the Piazza at Melrose Arch transforms into a spinning studio, and the wheels start to turn and the muscles begin to burn! Bigger and better, the Cyclethon 2014 will be lead by top instructors. There will be live entertainment, amazing hourly prizes, and the opportunity to meet our ambassadors – some of South Africa’s favourite celebrities – Harry Sideropoulos, musician Danny K, DJ Milkshake and actress Hlubi Mboya and professional cycling teams.

Get a chance to change the lives of South Africa’s children; sweat for a cause and make a child smile.

ABOUT SMILE FOUNDATION:

We’re About Putting Smiles on the Faces of Children in South Africa. Smile Foundation is a South African NGO that assists children with anomalies that require facial reconstructive surgery. We help children who suffer from treatable facial anomalies such as Cleft Lip and Palate, burns, Moebius syndrome (facial paralysis), Microtia (underdeveloped ears) and other conditions. We are currently based in 7 Academic Hospitals around South Africa. We are investing in the medical teams we work with, through a Skills Development programme, and we assist the hospitals by purchasing equipment for use by the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Our Chief Patron, the late honourable Nelson Mandela’s wish was for us to assist as many children around South Africa as possible to alleviate the stigma attached to living with a facial condition. For more information, contact Smile Foundation on 0861 276 453.
