Spring has sprung and it’s time to put your best foot forward, with Melrose Arch. Known for having a focus on holistic sustainability, Melrose Arch is hosting its inaugural Walking on Sunshine Spring Walk on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
According to Guy Gordon, GM of Melrose Arch: “the opportunity to support the 5km fun walk, in aid of HospiceWits, is both a privilege and a joy. Our hope is that the event will become a major part of the annual charity calendar, enabling the people of the city to contribute meaningfully to uplifting and sustaining the social economy and helping people that they may never get to know.”
The fun walk will promptly begin at 9:00, and conclude with a host of activities for the entire family. Starting at Melrose Boulevard – JB’s Corner- the fun-filled event will take participants through the beautiful surrounds of the precinct, through James and Ethel Grey Park, returning through Whiteley Road and finishing at the Piazza; where kids can take part in the host of activities on offer in a fun and safe environment. The rest of the family can also enjoy the good food and drink on offer from the various surrounding restaurants.
Tickets are R50 per person and children under the age of 2 years participant for free. Walk numbers are collectable before the event from The Square at Melrose Arch on Friday (5 Sept), from 09h00 to 17h00, and on Sat (6 Sept) between 09h00 and 13h00. NO numbers will be handed out on the day of the event. No refunds are available on tickets purchased as all proceeds from ticket sales will go to HospiceWits. Tickets can be purchased here.
